Gala for a good cause

On 28 September 2024, the annual IT4Kids Gala took place at the iconic Studio 21, and it was another unforgettable evening. This year's theme, ‘The Club Edition,’ brought an energetic atmosphere, where guests were immersed in a festive, club-like ambience.

A spectacular evening for a good cause
The gala, presented by the ever charismatic Xander de Buisonjé, was a great success. Xander led the evening with flair and created an upbeat atmosphere, while at the end of the event he also closed the evening in a special way with a dazzling musical show.

An impressive amount for an important cause
This year's IT4Kids Gala raised a record amount of more than €1 million. These proceeds will be used to realise structural sports opportunities for financially and physically vulnerable children. Sport is more than just physical activity; it provides children with essential skills such as self-confidence, perseverance and cooperation-#skills4life that prepare them for a better future.

Party with fantastic food and big names
During the evening, guests enjoyed an exquisite dinner provided by none other than renowned chef Rudolf van Veen. His culinary creations made the evening extra special and gave the gala a luxurious touch. But the gala was not just about food and entertainment. Major Dutch sports icons such as Richard Krajicek, Esther Vergeer, Sanne Wevers, Lucia Marthas and Sven Kramer were present to show their support for IT4Kids. These athletes know better than anyone how important it is for children to have the opportunity to play sports, regardless of their background or physical limitations.

The need for support
The importance of this goal cannot be stressed enough. In the Netherlands, around 0.5 million households live in poverty, which means that in an average school class, 2 to 3 children do not have access to sports. In addition, 1.5 to 1.9 million households have serious money worries, making the cost of sports membership unaffordable for many families. As a result, many children do not have the opportunity to participate in sports activities, even though sport is an important factor in their physical and social development.

For physically challenged children, the statistics are even more dire. Only 25% of these children participate in sports activities, and as many as 70% of them report feeling lonely. These are figures that cannot be ignored, and IT4Kids' work helps these children by engaging them in sports and giving them the opportunities they deserve.
